Teachers Village Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Governor Chris Christie and Newark Mayor Cory Booker joined Ron Beit of RBH Group and private equity investor, Nicolas Berggruen in Newark this morning for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of Teachers Village. We completed the first two buildings in June. Building 2 is a four-story 104,000 SF charter school building with first floor retail space and Building 5 is a five-story, 40,000 SF charter school with first floor retail space. TEAM Academy, Great Oaks Charter School and Discovery Charger School have since moved in to the buildings and eleven retail units will open their doors in the upcoming months. The remaining six buildings will have 224 housing units to accommodate teachers and almost 20 additional retail spaces. We broke ground for the project in February 2012.
